nx:media is the gaming group founded by Daniel Badger that is behind the development of projects such as Vengeance.
The forefather to nx:media was WDGames - three guys, known by their rather odd names "Dudemaster", "SomeMadeUpGuy", and "Psi.co.uk", who created games. The group split up, and contact was lost with SMG and Psi, whole Dudemaster remained. After a much needed name change around 2005-ish, Dudemaster became Wyatt.
And thus the second group, WDSoft, was formed. WD standing for "Wyatt Draegonhart", a roleplaying name used by Daniel Badger in an RP for a popular online flash game involving the Dragon Healers clan. WDSoft created the titles Chronicles of Afar, and Lost Fantasy. While these games were popular at the time they are no match for the current standards made with programs such as RPG Maker XP...
WDSoft never gained any other members than Daniel, and so he decided in 2006 to change names to something more... unique. It was a name that was meant to represent the future of gaming. Many ideas came to mind: Futurism, Next Gaming, etc. In the end Daniel settled for "nx:" with a colon at the end signifying the future, and a small "n" just to be complicated. Oh and a "media" was added for some unknown reason, to become nx:media.
nx:media as a company, still only contained Daniel, and thus instead of a "company" nx:media became a "gaming group". What this means who knows, and it is still just Daniel, for now.

nx+ gaming system
What is nx+?
nx+ is the reincarnation of the Netplay+ project, but it is exclusive to Vengeance Online RPG. It is a brand name for the system behind Vengeance; who knows why. It is based on Netplay+, and thus much of the credit goes to the Netplay+ team (listed in the credits of the game, but the most prominent are Muhammet Sivri ("Mr.Mo"), Derk-Jan Karrenbeld ("Me™"), and "Trebor777", as well as the origional Netplay founder "GoldenAura3" and MNetplay project founder - also called Daniel - "Destined"). |
